Senior OCIO & ALM Advisory Manager (m/f/d) for Germany

GenAM is seeking a technically strong and client-facing OCIO & ALM professional to support the build-out of its OCIO and corporate pension business in Germany and Austria.
The role combines advanced ALM modelling, regulatory expertise and fiduciary/OCIO structuring, with selective involvement in client development and sales channel activation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
OCIO & Fiduciary Mandate Management
- Take responsibility for the ongoing coordination and servicing of OCIO mandates, including strategic asset allocation, governance and implementation oversight
- Support and develop fiduciary / OCIO structures in Germany, including collaboration with KVG platforms and external partners
- Contribute to the expansion of OCIO capabilities and internal know-how transfer
ALM Advisory & Modelling
- Independently conduct Asset-Liability Management (ALM) studies using internal and external tools (e.g. Conning, GenAM frameworks)
- Analyse liability structures and cash flow profiles of German institutional investors, including:
Pensionsfonds
Pensionskassen
Versorgungswerke
Corporate pension (CTA / trust structures) - Develop strategic asset allocation and risk-return optimisation concepts aligned with client constraints and objectives
- Position ALM advisory as an entry point for broader OCIO and asset management mandates
Regulatory & Structural Expertise
- Ensure all advisory solutions are fully aligned with German regulatory frameworks, in particular:
Versicherungsaufsichtsgesetz (VAG)
Anlageverordnung (AnlV)
Pensionsfonds-Aufsichtsverordnung (PFAV)
BaFin Rundschreiben (e.g. RS 11/2017 (VA))
Investment Tax Act (InvStG)
Kapitalanlagegesetzbuch (KAGB) - Translate regulatory constraints into portfolio construction and ALM solutions
- Support clients in navigating regulatory requirements within OCIO and fiduciary setups
Corporate Pension Platform (bAV) Development
- Contribute to the development of an integrated bAV platform combining:
CTA / Treuhand solutions
Pension fund structures - Support project management and structuring of pension solutions for corporate clients
- Act as internal expert for German occupational pension systems and their investment implications
Collaboration & Internal Integration
- Work closely with investment teams, risk specialists, client services and product development
- Support the creation of standardised solution frameworks and client presentations
- Contribute to knowledge building within the organisation on OCIO and ALM topics
Selective Business Development & Client Interaction
- Support senior sales colleagues in technical client discussions and pitches
- Contribute to the development of sales channels (e.g. corporate clients, EB network, partners)
- Leverage existing knowledge of the German bAV / pension market to support targeted client engagement
- Participate in client meetings, RfPs and advisory processes

The successful candidate combines strong quantitative and regulatory expertise with practical experience in OCIO / fiduciary setups and institutional client advisory in Germany.
Core Qualifications
- University degree in finance, economics, mathematics or a related field
- Significant experience in institutional asset management, ALM advisory or OCIO/fiduciary management
Technical & Functional Expertise
- Strong ALM modelling skills, including experience with liability-driven investment frameworks
- Proven experience analysing German pension liabilities (Pensionsfonds, Pensionskassen, Versorgungswerke, CTA structures)
- In-depth knowledge of relevant German regulatory frameworks (VAG, AnlV, PFAV, RS 11/2017 (VA), InvStG, KAGB)
- Experience structuring or working within Fiduciary / OCIO setups in Germany, ideally involving a KVG platform
- Familiarity with strategic asset allocation, risk modelling and multi-asset portfolio construction
Market & Client Experience
- Solid understanding of the German institutional and bAV market landscape
- Initial or moderate experience in client interaction and sales processes, including:
Supporting pitches / RfPs
Working with consultants or institutional decision-makers
Understanding relevant sales channels - Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively engage and align internal and external stakeholders across functions and seniority levels
Personal Skills
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex analyses into actionable client solutions
- Structured and solution-oriented working style
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Fluent German and English required
